Hmmm... Stabilization: Why does "tripod mode" option come/go?

I've noticed that if I go to stabilize a clip, the "tripod mode" will sometimes be there (as an "on/off" toggle), other times it will NOT be present. As per the user manual, this "tripod" function is turned on when you activate the "InteriaCam" mode. However, even if I use that feature, the "tripod mode" option will not appear.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10), 3.4 Ghz / 32 GB RAM / FCPX 10.1.3

TTripod mode will basically only appear if you have a static shot, like talkING head.
