How do I have my notes that I create appear on all my devices? Or when I change a note it adjusts them. (iPad, iPhone, Macbook)

I have tried looking on how to have my notes "sync" to appear on all of my devices (iPad, iPhone, Macbook Pro). When I create a note on my Macbook Pro it does not appear on my iPad or iPhone. I also read several posts about an "On my Phone" notes section on my iPhone. I don't have that on there either. My default email for my notes is my iCloud account. Why are none of my notes there either. Help 🙂
