Instrument and Midi issues

I use a Motu MTP AV as a midi interface. Connected to that is a Kawai MP 9000, just an 88 key controller, and a Roland V Drums Kit, TD12 brain.

My issue is that when playing midi notes after Logic Pro is recording, the first few notes pushed on the midi controller (either one), the first few notes hesitate and then pile on to each other, as if there is a delay getting the notes into Logic after record is engaged. When I play the notes on the controller in standby, it seems to be just fine without a delay or lag of any kind.

I cannot reproduce this in Cubase, Studio One Pro or Digital Performer.

Also, as a side note; how do I tell a track in Logic which controller to accept the information from, or which midi port "in" is assigned to the track? I have the de-channelize button checked.

Need some help.

Thanks,

Rich
