I need to replace an old G5 A1117, but I still want to use my old DAW software which requires 10.4.x. I see that the early Mac Pro xeon based work stations (A1188 - 2113, 2.66 GHz quad core) came with 10.4, so I know they will run it.
But what I specifically would like to know, is will the newer Mac Pros run 10.4 as well? For instance, a 2006 Mac Pro 3.1, quad-core 2.8 Ghz (A1186, 2180)? It came with 10.5 as the base OS.

It is possible to run Snow Leopard though which still has Rosetta and PowerPC support in any cMP 2006-2012 (1,1 thru 5,1)
Do you know for certain that the software won't work with 10.5 or 10.6?
Most software sets a minimum OS and not every version. And 10.4.10 was simply the first time OS X was made for Intel hardware, not the best. And it is certainly no longer supported.
