Clicking on dates in Mail app now posts events one day later

Until now I've simply clicked on dates or time in mail messages to create new calendar events. Suddenly doing this creates events that are exactly one day later than the date in the Mail message. This caused me a few problems with missed meetings.

I don't *think* I've changed any settings. The system date is correct, so what's going on here?
