My wifi ic has some shortage problem

Hello ,

my macbook air shows no hardware installed in wifi . When i gave it to computer shop they said the wifi ic hAs undergone through some shortage issue and hence i will have to replace it . What do i do now ? he said its hard to get that ic And so on . If i give it the istore from where i bought it will i get it repaired ? I feel restless because all the datas and everything is there in my time capusle which is monitored by this laptop . please help me out with this , its a request . Your reply will be appreciated . thank you .
