My iMac goes to sleep even when I am using it.

When my iMac is set to sleep after 15 minutes or 1 hour, it goes to sleep even when I am using it - the cursor disappears and I can't wake it. I have to powerdown and start again.

When sleep it set to "never", the problem doesn't occur.

Any explanation and solution to this problem out there?
