That is a symptom of a failed HDD or a bad connection to the HDD.


Boot into the recovery partition and choose Disk Utility from the 4 option menu.


Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.


If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.


If the HDD seems functional, install it in an enclosure and connect it to the MBP via USB. Using startup manager, it it boots the MBP, the SATA cable is probably the problem.
