Exporting VCF cards to desktop, they have no data.

New iMac (Retina 5K, 27 inch, Late 2014) with 10.10.2 IOS.

I was trying to send my contacts to other workers in my department and some of the cards had no data or would not import at all. When dragging from Contacts to desktop I noticed the ones that were having problems had no picture and info showed 4k files. I finally figured the problem to be that I was backing up to ICloud. Once I turned that off then all contacts would export with their data and import from an email on to my Ipad. Out of 109 contacts about 30 had this problem.
