iPad, iOS 5.1.1
What problems are you talking about?
In any event, there are no further updates planned for iOS 5.1.1. That version is obsolescent and probably not supported.

When entering a web site as walmart will search site for a while then thrown back to home page, if trying to open app for cox tv connect will open up, then thrown back to home page. It all worked fine before update.
I'm still on 5.1.1, Verizon iPhone 4, 8GB (go ahead throw rocks at me!)
How big is your iPad for storage? Do you have too much stuff, and too many apps running?
if the latter 2 questions is yes, you are probably maxing on the RAM, which then starts to use your storage memory to overcompensate. Especially with java ridden sites, it's becoming a pain to use. Just had Safari crash just look on Apple's site for a new iPhone...
They have it is called iOS 8.1.3
Of course you're not suggesting this fellow have to upgrade to the latest and greatest and potentially cut themselves with the bleeding edge of technology, correct?
No one has to do anything but those that want the latest capabilities really should think about doing what's necessary.
Well, we don't know what iPad the fellow has, it could not be supported. I know the first gen stops at 4x, second gen probably supports 8 (I own the second gen). I'm on 5 and 6 on my iPhone and iPad and it does what I need it to do. However the storage capacity could be the problem if only s/he can confirm.
No. The original iPad goes to 5.1.1.
I have I pad 1 with 64 gb, all Apps deleted , preloaded apps all closed, history and cookies cleared, reset all settings
ALso new Cisco modem from cox cable company, new net gear wifi router I bought.
