Why do I need to check "block incoming IPv6 connections" when setting up IPv6?

Something doesn't seem right. I've been scouring the internet for how to enable IPv6 on Airport Extreme. I can't figure out why all of them say that I need to block incoming IPv6 connections in order to enable IPv6. This seems counterintuitive. Can somebody explain this to me?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)
