Alternatives to iCloud

I don't need to share all my photos across all my devices. They are eating up my storage and I do not want to buy more storage on iCloud. I don't trust having cloud storage of my most important pictures. How do I save my photos out to another file on one of my computers get them off all my other devices?? This is driving me nuts.

Use Dropbox. Install it on both your phone and computer, login on both and it will sync automatically. OneDrive will do the same.

Buy a USB 3 external drive for about $50 for 500 GB's and move your entire iPhoto Library to it to free up space on the internal. Same with your iTunes Library.
