Why is a movie not available in the USA on iTunes?

I was trying to buy "The Mummy" on iTunes, but it said it's not available for purchase in my country, but it has the rest of the Mummy franchise on it. Why is that?

Availability of films is decided by the production company, not Apple; quite often availability is different between different countries. It can be irritating, but there is nothing to be done about it.

but you won't be able to play that on an Apple TV only on a computer (on a Mac you will need to install Silverlight - frankly I'd buy the Blu-Ray or DVD).
