My cousin was with AT&T he has an iPhone 5s through. He switched to Verizon and got the 6 as an upgrade. He then gave me his 5s. Thing is I'm with T-Mobile, and paying off one phone on a family plan so switching is not an option and aside from other options I don't want to do for warranty sake, I feel I'm stuck cause he's refused to contact AT&T to free the phone up for me.

Your cousin has to request from AT&T to unlock the iPhone and if s/he qualify so that you can use it on T-Mobile

I might just keep it as an iPod and get rid of my two smaller ones. He paid for it outright, found out the account is in his brother's name, who lives in North Carolina. The one who gave me the phone here has a disability and my wife is helping her mom take care of him.
