can a new mac air be charged and operated with a modified sine wave inverter.

I want to use this in my RV, which is equipped with a 1300 watt modified sine wave inverter.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

It should work provided the inverter is OK with other electronic devices such as TVs and radios. Because these inverters convert DC to AC they cannot produce a perfect sine wave, so they are designed to produce a wave form from DC that comes close to being like an AC sine wave. Hence, they are called modified sine waves. The better the inverter, the better the wave form will be. The best people to ask for a definitive answer is the manufacturer's tech support. They would normally test the inverters with electronic equipment such as computers.
