Samsung SMS27A850 monitor not Displaying at 2560x1440

I recently got and hooked up my Late 2013 Mac Pro and I am having trouble when connecting to my monitors. I have two 27" Samsung SMS27A850's with a native resolution of 2560 x01440, but the Mac Pro see's them as 24" monitors with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. I've scoured the web and my IT guy has looked at it too, but cannot find a way to get it to work at the correct resolution. My previous 09 Mac Pro had no problems with these monitors at all.

My current machine is spec'd as follows:

3Ghz 8-Core

64GB if RAM

AMD FirePro D700

I know this reply is quite late, but I found this post while I was having a similar issue with the same model of display. I have an HDMI-to-MiniDisplayPort cable. I was able to resolve the issue by using the menu button on the monitor itself, going to the "Size & Position" menu, then changing the "Image Size" from "Auto" to "Wide". It causes the refresh rate to be locked at 60 Hz, but that's ok by me.
