Windows Wireless Service shutting down

Hello,

I currently have a home network that consists of several Apple Devices, the connection is as follows:

Gateway ++++ Time Capsule++++Airport Extreme))))Airport Express (extender)

+

++++Airport Extreme)))) Airport Express (client)

)

))))))) Airport Express (client)

))) wireless ++++ wired

(hope you can read the diagram)

The device in question is a Lenovo T430u using Windows 8.1.

The problem is that this device disconnects randomly from the network. When troubleshooting it indicated that the Windows Wireless Service was shut down, and then after running the troubleshooter again it resets the wireless adapter. It disconnects randomly, usually about every 30-60 minutes.

This is the only device with the issue, but the device doesn't present this problem in any other network. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Airport Time Capsule 802.11ac, Windows 8

Intel wireless card??

Intel wireless drivers are the worst on the planet..

Download several versions of the driver..direct from Intel, not just latest.. as the problem can be introduced on latest.. not fixed at all.

If it is another brand card.. (90% of them are intel that have issues though.. did you notice apple uses the whole intel chipset except wireless!!) download drivers from the OEM or Lenovo direct.

Simple way around it..

Buy a cheap wireless router.. eg TP-Link N lite.. about $35 and plug it into the network somewhere and run it a wireless AP for Lenovo.

Wireless is supposed to be compatible across brands and types.. but your experience is not unusual. It is more black arts and voodoo than science.

Hmmm.. I can always think of other solutions but they may not be pleasant. A crashing service btw is pretty well 100% driver problem.. but it can be interacting with something else.. you should go through the error messages and see if something is having issues by conflicting with the wireless.. strange stuff happens.

Did the laptop come with win8 or 8.1?

Did you upgrade install the OS?

Did it work ok until you upgraded?

Some history as the questions above indicate can be helpful.. you will find not every setup works.. and I have had issues myself with Asus computers using win8 when they upgraded to 8.1 then failed to work properly.. 8.1 has terrible drivers.

Some laptops are released with a range of wireless cards available.. if there is an option for a later AC intel card give that a try.. ie buy a new wireless card and replace the existing one... that can be a good solution although you need to know the laptop bios can cope..

Using a USB wireless stick is a cheap and easy way around the problem.. Intel only really make internal cards for laptops so wireless stick is realtek or atheros usually.. maybe broadcom.. if you can find a broadcom that would be the best.. modern AC wireless USB sticks can be very good. It is only having this big stick poking out is a pain.. and they often get knocked and mess up the USB port as well.

Finally you can do things the other way around.. get another express.. yet another.. and use it as wireless to ethernet bridge and plug that into the Lenovo ethernet port.. and turn the internal wireless right off.
