Turning off notifications application running in background?

I have just upgraded my Mac Pro (early 2009, 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon model) to OS X Yosemite v10.10.2. I clean installed the machine first loading Snow Leopard (v10.8).

I am trying to re-load Adobe CS6 Master Collection back onto it, but CS6 is telling me to 'close the applications to continue', the application to be closed is 'SafariNotificati'. I have tried to turn Notifications off through the system preferences and safari preferences but CS6 still gives me the same message.

Help! I would really appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me!

Problem solved. I answered my own question.

If you do happen to have the same problem follow these steps.

1. Open 'Activity Monitor' (Applications/Utilities/Activities Monitor)

2. Select the item in the list you need to stop running in the background (such as SafariNotifications)

3. Click on the 'Force a process to quit' button in the top left hand corner.

4. Quit 'Activity Monitor'

5. Continue loading your software.
