Google Drive / Google Docs Draining CPU and RAM

Hello,

I have seen this posted in other places but there are no real solutions.

Whenever I open Google Drive / Google Docs in Safari and edit any documents the CPU usage steadily grows and the RAM is constantly draining until no RAM is available. 100% CPU and 100% Ram are used because of Google Docs. I cannot view or edit Google Docs for any length of time and I have to kill the processes. I essentially have 20 minutes before my system is maxed out.

Has anyone solved this?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 64 Bit - i5 Processor - 24 GB RAM
