my ipod touch won't allow me to log into messenger

My daughter's ipod touch will not recognize messenger any longer...even though her email is confirmed. Also, the ipod won't recognize our wifi info...we have tried to reset the ipod to no avail...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx
