MBP 3,1 upgrade HD?

I love my old MacBookPro 3,1 but it's been tapped out for a while with regards to disk space and memory.

Considering swapping the SATA drive for an SSD and possibly adding memory.

The drive is the original FUJITSU MHW2160BHPL with 160 GB storage. What are my best options for an SSD? I'd be happy with 500 GB or greater.

I have 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 1 GB in each bank. Can I increase this? Any memory recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Sure, get the RAM at OWC, 6 GB Max:

Then put the largest SSD in there you can afford:

The bigger they are the more expensive, so you might want to consider using a small one as a dedicated boot drive and putting large storage in an external.

The change in boot speed and overall speed will be dramatic!
