There are two different methods of installing Windows.

1. Using legacy BIOS mode (the Windows icon that you see).

2. Using the EFI boot option that you mention.

Macs which are older than late 2013, do not support EFI boot very well and can lead to driver issues, most notably, Graphics and Audio.

If Bootcamp Assistant was used to partition your internal drive, then you are using option 1. Most issues stem from the failure of BCA which does not create proper MBR for the Windows BIOS installer to understand. Can you post the output of the following OSX Terminal commands?

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands need your password, which is not echoed back to you. You may also see a warning about sudo commands, and their improper use which can lead to data loss.
