    If SIM locked by a carrier then you need to get the carrier to unlock it for you. Once you get that done, you can use any SIM from any country/operator with your phone.

    This is what is already been done: phone is in Costa Rica, already,called the sprint company ,the phone is not in service,I also called the apple, apple gave us by the serial number a code to be able  to activated it ,but people in costa rica have my sister unlaw going back and forth from stores.

    sim card was taking care,code,applegave us the code,what is next?

    Apple does not give out "codes" as the phone is not unlocked by "codes". Again ONLY THE CARRIER CAN UNLOCK THE PHONE.. If Sprint did really unlock the phone, they would have sent you email with instructions on how to complete the unlock. Did you get the email from Sprint?

     

    Stores in CR cannot "unlock" the phone. Those are hacks at best and scams at worst.

     

    PS what is the iPhone model?

    Felipe, thank you for the information, it helped me as well, but I want to ask you, how can I know if an Iphone is Fully Unlocked GSM?
