why it takes longer time to print from iphoto

I am working at a school, today some students had trouble to print pictures from iphoto. later I tried it, found it eventually printed out, but took much longer time, about 10-15 minutes. students using Mac, I am using Macbook pro, os x yosemite version 10.10.2.

we print through papercut app. so what i am thinking is students may have stopped before it went to papercut as that takes much longer time. and they thought they could not print out.

any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you folks.
