I do not have enough storage volume on my macbook air anymore. Is it possible to upload stuff to the cloud so that I would have more space on my computer?
Do I only have to shift the documents to Icloud drive?

Buy an USB 3 external drive for about $50 for 500 GB's and move stuff to it and delete from your internal.
I know that but I wanna specifically use the cloud because it would give me the opportunity to have access on my data from every device. But how is it possible to store my own foilders? and if i shift my data to the i cloud drive foilder on my computer the amount of storage volume left does not change.
iCloud drive stores a "local copy" on each device.
Instead of freeing up space on your local drive it actually uses more.
