iPhone 5 Auto Brightness button not there?

HI all,


my iPhone 5 's proximity sensor is working when i take calls (screen goes black when up to ear), but the auto brightness button does not appear when on the brightness menu. The phone is running 8.1.3 and its completely fine apart from the brightness setting.


any help?

If your screen brightness settings aren't working as expected, try the steps in the article below to resolve the issue.

Change the brightness setting in iOS - Apple Support

To personalize Auto-Brightness:

  1. Tap Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on Auto-Brightness. You might notice that the brightness slider moves according to the current lighting conditions.
  2. Adjust the slider to set the Auto-Brightness yourself—and Auto-Brightness will pick future brightness settings based on that.



If Auto-Brightness isn’t working as expected, you can reset it. Just tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
