Podcast Problem

During my morning drive to work, I'll listen to part of a podcast. Then, that afternoon, I'll get back in to my car only to find out that the podcast has went to the cloud. This is very irritating. How can I fix this? I'd like to keep the latest episodes on my phone.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

After reviewing your post, it sounds like a subscribed podcast is not downloading to the iPhone. There are two places to check some download settings. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.


Podcasts app for iOS: Managing subscriptions - Apple Support


There are two places you can change subscription settings for your podcasts.

  • Default settings: From your Home screen, tap Settings and then Podcasts.
  • Download Episodes: The latest episodes of your podcasts will download automatically if your iOS device is connected to Wi-Fi.


Podcast-specific settings: The second place you'll find subscription settings is within the Podcasts app.
