Q: PMFatalErrorDomain error 9901

When I try to change the Service Data volume, I get "PMFatalErrorDomain error 9901".

I'm on Yosemite Server. Any ideas?  Google doesn't bring up much on this.

Hello.  It's been a little while since you posted this question, were you able to find a solution?  Looks like you posted that question on a few other websites too.  I had this problem this morning, which had me hitting the interwebs to figure it out for myself.  Your post was the only mention I found!  My error number was slightly different, but otherwise sounds like a similar issue.

However, I seem to have identified and resolved my issue.  The "PM" part of the error seems to be referring to ProfileManager.  I noticed right away that ProfileManager was giving me an "error reading settings" message when I highlighted the service in the sidebar.  I'm glad I noticed that, because I don't use ProfileManger on this server.  Since I don't use the service, I was good with completely resetting the service per this article: OS X Server: How to reset Profile Manager to its original state - Apple Support.

After I followed all the steps and restarted, I was able to switch my Service Data without the error.

    Hope that helps!

Yes, I had to kill the Profile Manager, even though I never started it! I trashed the Server app, deleted all the /Library/Server folders, as well as all the server plists in Preferences folders that I could find.

Everything seems to work ok now -- but crazily, some settings were remembered!
