white macbook and yosemite

I have a 4 year old macbook. i recently upgraded to Yosemite and installed Sophos anti virus. Now it keeps freezing.

Any ideas on what to do?

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010), Yosemite

Yes, start by uninstalling Sophos. It has been known to cause problems recently. If removing your anti-virus software makes you nervous, see my Mac Malware Guide for more information on protecting yourself against malware.
