Lost references to mail account information, cannot delete the account

I tried to post this earlier but i am not sure if it did get posted, if so i apologize.

I have had a problem with my mail account and tried to delete it. When trying to do so in the account tab the account is visible but i get directed to the Internet Account tab, and there the account is not there. The effect of this is that i am not able to delete the account.

I need help how to delete the mail account as i cannot use it. It is in mail still.
