Downloading security suite

I'm unable to download the security suite (McAfee) offered by my ISP (AT&T). I'm currently running Mavericks OS X 10.9.5. I've attempted to download the installer from their web page with help from an agent but I'm unable to get past the initializing step. I do meet all of the required specifications that the installer requires. I have more than 2GB of memory, I have an Intel Processor, and I'm utilizing Safari when attempting the download.

Any input would be invaluable.

It is not just a valid option, it is a "Smart" option to NOT install any Anti-Malware product on your Mac.

The forum spends a lot of time diagnosing slow Macs and kernel panics because users try to treat their Macs like a Windows PC.

Anti-Malware, Mac cleaners, memory cleaners are all the rage, and then the owners complain of kernel panics, and slow Macs. We tell them to remove those things and most of the time they go away happy that their Macs behave themselves again.

The following URLs provide information on why you do not want an Anti-Malware product:

I give up.

Perhaps you guys don't understand my question. I'm just trying to find out why my mac wouldn't be able to download the security suite offered by AT&T from McAfee - I understand Mac has an awesome Anti-Virus package. I simply want to know why it won't download.

when you guys tell me I shouldn't download the anti-virus

Alright awesome info! But none the less I still wanna know what would stop me from downloading the program.

The fact that McAfee doesn't know what the **** they're doing?

The fact that AT$T doesn't know either?

Common sense?

If you want to download something that is not available from the Mac App Store, download it from a site specifically authorized by the software's developer. No other source should be trusted, especially if it's one recommended by AT$T.

This is the site I found after a brief search: http://www.att.net/iss. You have to log in to get beyond that, and having established sufficient distance between my life and AT&T's monumental incompetence there's only so much I am willing to do for my fellow Mac users. If it's still not working for you after you log in with your credentials, I'd take it as a sign of what you could expect once you install it.
