I've received a note to update my system to OS X Yosemite.
Does FCPX works well with the new system?
Is there any precaution that I should take before the update?

From all reports, yes it does. You can search the forums for more information.
Most users like it.
All works as advertised.
Bear in mind that it requires the latest version of FCP X.
If your version uses the Library model then you are good.

Unfortunately I received your advice too late and my version of Final Cut ProX which is 10.0.9 does not work with the system I've just updated overnight. Help!!! What can I do?
Can I update it somehow or I have to buy a new program????
What about my projects??? Will I be able to open then up in the new version of FCPX?

Big mistake . The system does not work with the version I had!!!!
A free update is available from the App Store. You just need to sign in with the Apple ID used to purchase it.

I did clone my system, in case something get wrong; then updated my Mac without a clean install - works like charm......
I signed in but I only see Final Cut Pro available to buy for 300 US$

Older Projects using the separate Projects and Events folders can be updated to the newer FCP X 10.1.4.
It's important to KNOW what you are doing BEFORE pushing buttons.

I updated the old projects and events to work with the new version of FCPX.
Anything you could advice me so I don't get any other bad surprises 🙂
Hope to get used quickly to this new version.
