Jam Packs missing from Garage Band

Hi,

I have recently iLIfe'11 installed with all available updates (from the retailer DVD), GarageBand v.6.0.5. Whenever I launch it Console displays these messages:

Indeed, when I went to /private/var/db/receipts I found no signs of any .BOM files that would attribute to anything having "JamPacks" in its title. Both ~/Application Support/Garage Band and /Audio/Apple Loops folders have it neither. So I wonder: does this version of Garage Band have to have JamPack, the more so, JamPack 1 which, as I learned from Wikipedia, was discontinued as far back as in 2006(!)? If it does NOT then why does it report of not founding these receipts? To test whether this type of console messages occurs in other iLife'11 apps I launched the rest of them and it doesn't. So what is the story with this JamPack and can its absence affect GB functionality in future?

Kindest regards,

I.S.

No, iLife '11 does not neither need the JamPacks, nor does it include the JamPacks. Did you previously have the JamPacks installed, and are some of your projects using them? Do you have Apple Loops or sounds installed, that came with the Jam Packs?

If you talk about installing separately, then, no, I never had JamPacks. But what causes Garage Band to generate these report messages in Console?

I have not seen any of these messages. Are they occurring continually, each time you are launching GarageBand?

If it is only happening after the first setup, I would not worry. The GarageBand '11 installer had to consolidate all loops and sounds from previous installations, because the Apple developers changed the installation libraries where loops and instruments get installed several times. So when installing a new version, the installer needs to check for left-overs from previous versions and Jam Packs and consolidate the Loop Library and Instrument library. Do you perhaps also have MainStage or Logic installed?
