YYou need to give complete specifications for the original media, what you did to it in FCP, and exactly how you got it into QuickTime.
I have imported the clips into FCPX from a high speed SD card. I then added photos, clips, transitions and titles to the timeline. I did play with the audio setting on some clips as to get rid of some background noise which was not successful. I then deleted the clips from the timeline and then refreshed clips by dragging down fresh clips that were not effected by the my previous adjustment of the audio. I checked the event in the timeline and the audio was perfect. I then exported the whole event into Quicktime .mov. The exported file has audio distortion.
II'm sorry you didn't answer the questions about the specifications of the media, video and audio, nor on how you exported. The stills don't matter I don't think but complete details about the audio format and specs are necessary.
The media is Mpeg4
The media is MP4 and I exported from FCPX from File - share - export file - Quicktime
MPEG-4 means very little. Open the original audio files in the QT player and report complete and exact information given in the inspector window.
Tom I do not understand as I cannot see an inspector window in Quicktime Player. The only inspector window I am familiar and can see is in FCPX.
I have dowloaded a clip separately and opened in Quicktime player and cannot see the audio file identified?
YOu need to use the files that you're actually working with in FCP not another copy. In FCP select the clip and use the reveal in Finder function. Open that clip in the QT player. In the menus go to Window>Inspector.
Thank you Tom,
Sorry about my lack of knowledge.
Format: H,264, 1920 x 1080
ACC, 4800Hz, Stereo (LR)
FMS: 24.97
Data Rate: 23.18 Mbit/s
ddon't know what the source of the media is but it has two significant problems, the compressed audio and the non-standard frame rate. Normally I would think you could just optimize the media in FCP and be fine, but in this case I think you would need to convert the media to a good codec like ProRes 422 with uncompressed 48K audio with a standard frame rate, which I'm guessing should be 23.976. You'd need to do this before you import into FCP. You can use Compressor or MPEG Streamclip to do this. The data rate also seems very low of 1080p media.
Thank you Tom,
I will do what you have advised and get back to you at a later date.
