Reboot gone wrong

Well my IPhone 4S power button is broken, and I had an issue with the text messages coming through without sound. I followed advice from a forum post to reset the settings. However when it restarted, it didn't go past the apple logo. So I waited till the battery ran out then plugged it in. Same result. No change.
