What is iPhoto dump? I can find it in finder but I don't know why photos are going there.

No idea - I've never heard of "iPhoto Dump" - what version of iPhoto? Where exactly are you seeing this "iPhoto dump" What exactly are you seeing and what is its exact name or the exact message or what ever you are seeing?

I don't think so. I have trashed over a thousand photos and there are only a few dozen photos in iPhoto dump. I can't remember the instances, but when I wanted to make some saves I could only send them to the iPhoto dump. I want to transfer them to the regular iPhoto.
I did find iPhoto dump in finder. I looked there because I could not save those photos to iPhoto. Apparently, they were in the wrong format.
