Mobility settings and Firefox

We are a school with labs of mac computers running OS10.9.5 Students' data follows them from machine to machine as we are using the mobility sync settings in profile manager to do this. Specifically the folder and all sub folders and files at Username/Library/Application Support/Firefox are synced across machines. It works in that the files in ...Firefox/Profiles/randomnumber.default do move from machine to machine, but then Firefox ignores them and creates a fresh profile each time the student moves to a new machine.

Permissions on the profiles are all, e.g.

drwx------ 41 tmapp SCHOOL\Domain Users 1394 4 Mar 13:01 609b26is.default

drwx------ 35 tmapp SCHOOL\Domain Users 1190 26 Sep 08:38 e43skxni.default

drwx------ 41 tmapp SCHOOL\Domain Users 1394 4 Mar 13:42 gn2ldszc.default

Permissions on the Application Support/Firefox/profiles.ini file are

drwx------ 8 tmapp SCHOOL\Domain Users 272 4 Mar 13:30 Profiles

-rw-r--r-- 1 tmapp SCHOOL\Domain Users 113 4 Mar 13:30 profiles.ini

As a result of Firefox creating a new profile each time students' bookmarks don't follow them around. Are there other files that need to be synchronized to make this work? Has anyone made this worked sucessfully?
