I have a Macbook Pro 2011 and I want to AirDrop with a newer Mac but when we both have AirDrop open nothing pops up for either MacBook.
With the newer Mac we search for the old Mac but still nothing!
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

I understand that you would like to use AirDrop between two Apple computers, but they are not seeing each other. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the If you don't see nearby users in AirDrop section in the attached article.
