iphone5 new battery installed now blinking apple logo

I purchased and installed a new battery for my iphone 5s.

When I tried to turn it back on, the apple logo now repeatedly flashes on for about 6 seconds, off for 2 sec to a black screen, and repeats indefinitely.

Ideas?
