Can I transfer pictures from a lost iPhone (that's been backed up to my computer) to an iPad or just my Mac?

So, I lost my iPhone 5 and it's 100% gone, unfortunately. I had a bunch of pictures on it that I'd like to see again someday. My question is are my pictures backed with iTunes if I frequently backed up my phone? If so, can I view them on my Macbook or transfer them to my iPad or something? I am currently using a 3G so I can't use my 5's backup on it, so I couldn't use that to see if my pictures are still there.

One option would be to use 3rd party backup extractor software. Following is one example: http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

If you have been backing up with iTunes frequently then your backup will contain all the photos that were in the Camera Roll on your iPhone 5. No need to worry. You can restore this backup to a new iPhone and you will be back to normal.

Good point JimHdk -- for some reason I read into the original post that he didn't intend to replace the phone with a new one. I don't have a clue now how I got that idea!

Hi, I actually don't plan on replacing it until October or so when I can upgrade. Looks like my only solution is to use third party software huh? That's a shame since it costs money. Thanks for the help!

You can restore them to your iPad, but only if you are willing to overwrite all content on the iPad with the content from your phone.
