Q: iOS Photo library wrong size

Hi, I'm trying to restore some space on my 16GB iPhone 5s and I've already imported all the photos in my computer and deleted almost all the photos from iOS Camera Roll. Now I have only 80 photos in camera roll, total 72mb (just 10 photos are 2mb size, taken with the phone, others are downloaded from internet). The problem is that iOS says that photo library is still using 749mb!!! How come? I have only those photos. The Recently deleted folder is empty!

How can I restore that space without resetting the phone?

Go to Settings/General/About and see how many photos are listed there. If it is more than 8 you have data corruption that SHOULD be able to be fixed by following Why does my iOS device say I have more photos than I can find?

Are any of those photos taken as HDR, which includes multiple images for one photo?

However, 124 MB is a VERY small amount of data.

    Hi lawrence,

First thank you for your response lawrence I really appreciate it

so, I went to the about section and I just found 8 pics

I just deleted 4 pics of my camera roll and on the photo library it shows 113MB

    IMG_0153.PNG

and on the about section it shows 4 pics

    IMG_0152.PNG

but when I go to itunes it shows 4 pics but only 13 MB so itunes shows me the correct  size of the pics

so if the size of my pics is 13MB but on photo library it show 113MB so that means that photo library is taking 100MB

but from where does the photo library is taking that much of MB and why??

    please lawrence help  me

Connect the phone to your computer. Click on its icon in iTunes. Click Backup. When that finishes click Restore iPhone... This will reload iOS, then restore your backup you just made. And it may eliminate the other 100MB, which are probably data corruption.

This fixed it for my wife's phone, as well!  She made the mistake of buying the 16 GB iPhone 6 and was down to her last 100 MB.

    Thanks!

I tried re-setting the automatic to manual time trick, but for me it did not work. (I also tried 4 yrs, and the exact date I shot my first iPhone photo.) When I opened iTunes with the time set two years back it first showed some smaller fotos library, only to expand to the 13,9 GB for 167 fotos.

I don't sync my iphone with iTunes. I'm using iExplorer for I need to move my videos to folders on external hard drives I'm using for video editing.

Any idea what else I can do?

    Thanx in advance

    Ulli
