best way to delete junk without opening it

Hello,

Am I missing something obvious? Seems like in the past, on a MacBook Pro in the Mail Program, you could highlight the whole column of junk emails, delete them...without opening them. Has this changed or am I just super tired or stupid?

Any input would be appreciated!
