My iMac hard drive crashed. I need original start up discs. When turned on it shows a folder with a question mark on it. I had upgraded it to 10.6 Snow Leopard.

You can get Snow Leopard start up disc via Amazon, if you want to chance it ( link below for Amazon page. ) Personally I would phone the Apple help line to see if they can provide you with a set of disc's it much safer.

You can get a Snow Leopard retail disc here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Or you can call Apple and see if they can still sell you a set of original onstall discs, but you'll still need the 10.6 disc to upgrade to where you were.
