Track changes causing #of pages in document to fluctuate wildly

Hello! I'm running Pages 5.5.2 on an almost-brand-new Macbook Pro running OS 10.10.1.

I've been working on a document for a long time with no problems (well, a bit of that lovely pages-5-lag), and tracking changes and converting to word and sending it off and getting it back and so on.

Just recently, it's freaked out. If I keep track changes on (it's got 100+ changes and comments, but nothing too crazy) the document only displays 4 pages (of 18). If I edit something or scroll down, more pages appear and then disappear again within a second, first dropping down to just the first 2 pages and then settling back to the first 4. If I turn track changes off (and accept/reject all changes) the problem stops.

It's making it impossible to work. Any advice would be hugely, massively appreciated.

Hi Matthew,

Pages is not a Word Clone. Exporting and importing between Pages and Word will build up glitches. If you are working with a Word user, it is best that you use Word for Mac or or a free look-alike such as LibreOffice.

Ahh I see. Thanks for that.

On further examination, I think that the problem has something to do with the auto table of contents and page numbering. The problem corresponds with all the page numbers in the ToC being set to 1.
