I am trying to install mac app store on my mac, and i am unable to do so. There's nothing to update in my software either. I have lost access to my pictures through iphoto. I need help. this is my first mac
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

so when i install the leopard, it will have the mac app store app?
also im not sure how to backup the computer without an external hard drive. the only thing i care about are my pics that i can't access now.
1. Once the computer's running 10.6.8, it will have the Mac App Store.
2. Buy an external drive, choose Utilities from the Finder's Go menu, open the Disk Utility, reformat it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), choose Home from the Go menu, double-click the Pictures folder, and drag the iPhoto library there.

How can i install app store on my mac? Its not available in my software update either.
