my photo library on my ipad is 6.5gb. No matter what I try I can't clear it. Synching to an empty folder, deleting recently deleted items, nothing works.

If your usage is reporting that Photos is taking up 6.5 GB of space, but you don't have any photos on the device, then I'd like you to please follow the directions below to reinstall iOS on your iPad.
- Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
- Put your device in recovery mode.
- When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
