Apple TV won't connect. Says searching for signal.

I Was watching a show on Apple TV but switched to regular TV for a minute, when I switched back to Apple TV it keeps saying that it is searching for signal. unplugged cables, reset remote, tried the other HDMI port but nothing works. Please help.
