Anyone else having trouble syncing iPhone 6 plus with iTunes Store on MAC?

I have heard from several friends that they are having trouble with the new ITunes 12 regarding syncing with their phones.

I have the latest iTunes on my MAC. I just bought a iPhone 6 plus and am trying to sync it to iTunes Store (using Yosemite). iTunes comes up fine on my MAC and I am able to get the the iTunes Store. But the minute I plug in my iPhone 6 plus using the USB cord, it locks up. Will not sync. I'm getting real frustrated!
