Hdmi cable that works with Mac mini 2012
I'm having problems getting a good HDMI image with the Mac mini late 2012 using an adapter or a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. I'd like to get an HDMI to HDMI cable that works. Does anyone have a recommendation?

What monitor? Does it have alternate (to HDMI inputs)?
Just why is not the image "good"?
HDMI can be troublesome irrespective of the cable.
The image is way off center, so much so that the Finder menus at the top are barely accessible. This is the subject of another question I posted several days ago. I want to try a direct HDMI-HDMI cable to see whether the problem is cable-related or not. I haven't found any other instance of this problem here in the Communities or when I Google the symptoms, so I'm beginning to suspect that the computer is picky about HDMI cables and adapters. That's why I'd like to know what cable(s) others have had good results with.
Have you tried the ovescanning setting in the display preferences on the Mac?
My experiences is the your problem is not the cable unless you have a really poor cable.
Is this available only in Yosemite?
It appears the overscan is only for HDMI TVs.

What monitor do you have?
I have an LG L246WP and an LG 24M34D-B. The problem occurred with both monitors when I used a Thunderbolt-HDMI cable and an HDMI-DVI cable.
I just tried the computer with an HDMI cable designed for computer use. I get the same result. Could it be that the HDMI will only operate properly with an Apple cable?
To my knowledge Apple does not make HDMI cable. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple does in fact sell an HDMI-HDMI cable for $19.
I found the link
However, I have used a run of the ml HDMI cable from my 2102 Mini to my 1080 p TV with no problems.
Go to Store -> cables, it's right there.
I also connected my computer to a 1080p TV and the results were perfect. For some reason, which may be the cable, it doesn't display properly with my HDMI monitor.
It may be the cable. Just try a good quality HDMI cable
I'm going to try the computer:
a) on my monitor using the same cable I use with my TV
b) with the HDMI-HDMI cable I just used, but with another monitor.
That should reveal what the problem actually is.
I'll keep you posted.
