Assistive Touch... gone?

A few months ago, my home button broke. I set up assistive touch, which also allows me to acess the homescreen. For some reason the assistive touch icon has dissapeared from my screen, meaning that I can no longer access the home screen, and I can't do anything. How can I fix this???

I have IOS 8, iPod Touch 5
